Karina Kherunts

Mezzosoprano

Karina Kheruntc was born in Russia. The young singer has become her musical education and opera singer degree at Moscow State conservatory and has been awarded in several international competitions including finalist in the IV All-Russian Obukhova Vocal Contest in 2010,  finalist in the 2012 Competizione dell’ Opera in Minsk, Belarus, special prize at the Latvian National Opera. She has participated in the International Bruckner Festival in Linz in 2013 and went on to win third prize in the International Opera Singing Competition of Portofino, Italy in 2015. Karina has worked  under several distinguished conductors including Yuri Bashmet, Philipp Chizhevsky, Felix Korobov, Pavel Lando, Denis Vlasenko and Daniel Montane.

Her most recent engagements include the roles of Olga (Eugene Onegin), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Tangia (Le Cinesi by Gluck), Polina (The Queen of Spades) and Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia) as well as the productions of War and Peace by Prokofiev with the role of Sonya, and Iolanta by Tchaikovsky, singing the role of Laura.
