Solen Mainguené

Soprano

International lyric soprano Solen Mainguené is an emerging talent from Orange, south of France.

Solen started her undergraduate training in cello and voice at the age of 15 at le Conservatoire de Rennes in France. She then undertook a Bachelor at the prestigious Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, U.S.A from which she graduated with honors.Ms Mainguené studied with Phyllis Bryn-Julson and Stanley Cornett, and took master classes with Dominic Cossa, Marilyn Horn and John Shirley-Quirk. Later she became her Master in Opera at Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg Austria . She studied with the acclaimed Roumanian bass B. Bakow, Mozart specialist J. Wallnig, and renouned stage director E. Gramss. She was an active member of the Mozart Opern Institut young artist program in Salzburg.

In 2012, the soprano  became a  member of the Opera Studio of the Hamburg State Opera where performed among others: Barbarina in le nozze di Figaro, Taummänchen in Hänsel und Gretel, the Peace Messenger in Wagner’s Rienzi, Gianetta in l’Elisir d’amore, a Polowetzer Maiden in Prince Igor, Blummädchen in Parsifal, Cunibert in Telemann’s Flavius Bertaridus, Papagena in die Zauberflöte and Musetta in la Bohème. Ms Mainguené collaborated with conductors such as: Simone Young, S. Soltesz, A. Soddy, A. Eschwé, Lawrence Foster and A. de Marchi.

Her current repertoire comprises: Marguerite in Faust, Juliette in Roméo et Juliette, Adina in l’Elisir d’amore, Musetta and Mimi in la Boheme, Liu in Turandot,  Micaela in Carmen, Contessa in le Nozze di Figaro and Nedda in Pagliacci.

Her upcoming season includes roles like La Vierge in Jeanne d’Arc au Bucher, Musetta in la Bohème, Micaela in Carmen, 1st Lady in Magic Flute at State Opera Hamburg and Catherine Earnshaw in Whithering Heights at Staatstheater Braunschweig.
