Alexey Dedov

Bass baritone

Bassbaritone Alexey Dedov was born in in Sankt-Peterburg and graduated in 2003 at St. Petersburg Tcherkassov Theatre Academy as opera singer and actor. He has as well been laureated at several Russian and international vocal contests ans is winner of Vocal Arts festival in memory of V. Barsova and M. Maksakova in 2007.

Next and recent projects include Affanassi in Der Idiot at Theater an der Wien, Samuel in Ballo in Maschera at Helikon Opera and Dodon in der golden cockerel at Teatro Petruzelli Bari among others.

Since 2005 Alexey Dedov works as soloist member at Helicon Opera Theatre in Moscow, where he has debuted among others the parts of Figaro “Le Nozze di Figaro”, Varlaam “Boris Godunov”, 
 Escamillo “Carmen” Magic man Chelii, Vasily Vasilievich, famous surgeon in “Fallen from the Sky” Kitchen woman “The love for three oranges”, Basilio “Il barbiere di Siviglia”, Amonasro and King of Egypt “Aida”, 
Scarpia “Tosca”, Friedrich”liebesverbot” Frank, Unknown, Fraush in “Die Fledermaus”, Crown, Jack in “Porgy and Bess”.

Alexey Dedov has toured with the Helikon Opera abroad and performed as guest internationally, among others 2007 at Teatro Regio in Boris Godunov, 2008 at french Massy Festival in Love for three oranges, 2009 in Spain tourne with Il Barbiere di Siviglia, 2011-12 in several festivals in Bulgaria, 2013 festival in Livan, in Wagners das Liebesverbot. 2013-14 performed among others the part of Pizarro-Fidelio at Bergen Opera house and Amonasro at st Margarethen Opera Festival. In the season 2014-2016 performed Amonasro again at the Munich Gärtnerplatz Opera house, as well as Escamillo at Helikon opera Moscow and The Bells at Flaneries de Reims and Taipei Symphony Orchestra, among others. 2018 performed Beethovens 9th at Premio Asturias Princess – Fundación Oviedo Prize award in Spain.

Roles at Helikon opera in 2019-2020 and future projects among others at Bolschoi Theatre include Tonio in Pagliacci, Scarpia in Tosca, Silvano in Ballo in Maschera, Dodon in Golden cockerel, Lindorf in the Tales of Hoffmann, Frosh in Fledermaus, Amonasro in Aida.
