Egils Silins has stablished himself internationally as one of the most demanded bass baritones of his generation.
Current and upcoming projects include among others the leading part in der Fliegende Holländer at Deutsche Oper Berlin, König Marke at Oper Leipzig, Villaines in Les Contes d´Hoffmann at Semperoper Dresden, Kurwenal at NNTT Tokyo, Telramund and Wotan/Wanderer at the Maifestspiele Theater Wiesbaden as well as Telramund at Deutsche Oper Berlin.
Most recent performances include Grand Pretre in Samson et Dalila at Staatsoper Berlin as well as at the Elbphilharmonie in concert together with Elina Garanca as Dalila, Telramund in Lohengrin at Oper Leipzig, Wotan/Wanderer in the Ring with the Dresdner Philharmonie under the baton of Marek Janowski, the same roles in the Ring at MÜPA Wagner Tagen Budapest under the baton of Adam Fischer and at Staatstheater Kassel, his return to the Bayerische Staatsoper and Maifestival Wiesbaden in Lohengrin as well as his debut as Hans Sachs at Spring Festival Tokyo.

Engagements in the last seasons include Barak at Staatsoper Berlin, Amfortas and Walküre Wotan at Staatsoper Hamburg, Walküre Wotan with Bayreuther Festspiele on tour and at San Carlo di Napoli, his debut at the Bayreuther Festspiele under the baton of Christian Thielemann, the Demon new production at Teatro del Liceo Barcelona, Wanderer at Opera Munich, Lysiart at Dresdner Philharmonie, Telramund at Tokyo Spring Festival, among others. Earlier he returned to Opera de Paris with Samson et Dalila and Lohengrin with maestro Philippe Jordan, and sung as well Wanderer at Leipzig and Budapest Opera, Holländer at Teatro del Liceo Barcelona, Jochanaan at ABAO and Festival Verbier.

The bass-baritone Egils Silins was born in Latvia and graduated from the Latvian Academy of Music. After having his debut at the Latvian National Opera and winning ten international competitions he made his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper. He gained huge international acclaim singing the title role in ‘Le Demon’ (Rubinstein) at the Bregenzer Festspiele, and further more performed at prestigious music festivals including The Tanglewood Music Festival, Savonlinna Opera Festival and Glyndebourne Festival.
Egils Silins performes regularly at many of the world´s leading opera houses, including, Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan Opera, Hamburgische Staatsoper, ROH London, Semperoper Dresden, Deutsche and Staatsoper Berlin, Teatro del Liceu, Teatro Real, Mariinsky Theatre, Opernhaus Zürich, Chicago Opera, Bayersiche Staatsoper München.
